Yemisi Takwoingi

Professor of Test Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis, University of Birmingham

Yemisi Takwoingi is Professor of Test Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis and Head of Department of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Birmingham. She is a biostatistician/methodologist on diagnostic research spanning early phase evaluation, clinical studies, and evidence synthesis to inform national and international guideline development and policy. As EDI Lead for the Partnership and the NIHR Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration, she ensures inclusive practices are embedded throughout research. Yemisi also leads the NIHR-supported Race Equity and Diversity in Careers Incubator, supporting racially minoritised researchers. Her work centres on creating equitable research environments, amplifying underrepresented voices, and driving structural change to ensure that research, careers, and outcomes are inclusive and reflect the diversity of society.
