Gill Vance is joint lead for Workforce Voices. She is a paediatric consultant and clinical education researcher in Newcastle. Gill looks to carry out research that improves the working lives, education and training of health and care staff.
Since 2012, Gill has carried out a host of research studies that focus on the sustainability of the multi-professional healthcare workforce and how this interacts with workplace and educational systems. Her work has been funded by medical and dental regulators (GMC; GDC), Royal College of Physicians, NHSE and NIHR. Gill is also passionate about capacity and capability building in academic careers, including clinical education research. She jointly established the NIHR Incubator for Clinical Education Research, and sits on the NIHR Integrated Academic Training panel, as well as the Doctoral Research Fellowships panel.
