Alisha is a Clinical Research Associate at the Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University. She works within the Deep End Research Team, the Health Inequalities Team and the Workforce Partnership, focusing on research relating to clinical education and training, health inequalities and the primary care workforce, particularly in underserved areas. She is a medical doctor by background and has experience of working within the NHS in both primary and secondary care settings.
Following her medical degree, she completed her National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Specialised Foundation Programme Training in Academic Public Health in the North East, where she led a qualitative project evaluating an intervention to increase the number of Deep End training practices, to improve recruitment and retention of staff and increase learning opportunities.
