Contribution to the whole programme of work
Knowledge mobilisation is how we put the partnership’s research findings into practice and is therefore essential to how we work. It is used strategically throughout the research process and tailored to our stakeholders’ needs. We will collaborate with the public (especially underserved communities like ethnic minorities), health and care professionals (including underserved professions like social care and mental health staff), and policymakers (local and national). Our goals are to raise awareness, share knowledge, make our evidence useful, and promote the adoption of our research findings.
Summary of approach and methods
To achieve this, we will co-create knowledge mobilisation plans for each project from the beginning. We will also embed research posts in partner organisations to build long-term relationships. Additionally, we will co-produce various tailored outputs and dissemination activities such as written reports, lay summaries, policy briefings, website content, and digital media content.
We will also enhance knowledge mobilisation skills within our partnership by offering training and support to our members in order to raise awareness of knowledge mobilisation, its methods, aims, and its crucial role in maximizing research value.
We will regularly reflect on knowledge mobilisation activities and share learning with other workforce partnerships to promote inquiry and dialogue. We will encourage collaboration and team learning with our collaborators and partners which will empower a learning culture in our partnership. In this culture, knowledge mobilisation becomes everyone’s business
Description of opportunities
We will collect regular data and feedback about our knowledge mobilisation strategy, plans, and activities from our research team and partners. We will use this evidence and feedback to improve our processes. We will also share our learnings with relevant regional and national infrastructures including NIHR HDRCs, ARCs, SPHR, Incubators, OHID, and the VCSE sector. This will contribute to the evidence base for effective knowledge mobilisation.
